My Values & Approach

I’m a passionate, warm, gentle and down-to-earth counsellor who works with adults, children and young people.

I work integratively, drawing on a range of counselling approaches to suit each person’s needs. My aim is to offer a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable being yourself, talking openly about what’s on your mind and exploring your feelings at your own pace.

I believe in working alongside my clients, offering acceptance, understanding and a genuine connection. I see each person as the expert in their own life and want them to feel able to explore what matters to them, in their own time and in their own way. I also recognise that talking isn't always easy, and that creativity can sometimes offer another way to explore feelings and experiences.

In supervision, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can be yourself and openly explore your client work, reflect on challenges and develop your confidence as a practitioner. I believe in working alongside you, with openness, curiosity and gentle challenge when needed.

I enjoy bringing creativity into supervision, offering opportunities to explore client work through the use of the sand tray, objects, images and other creative activities. These can help us reflect on experiences and explore things from a different perspective.

My approach is informed by Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision and Page and Wosket’s Cyclical Model.

Supporting You on Your Journey

Counselling

I have over 20 years’ experience working in education, safeguarding and therapeutic settings, including roles as a school counsellor and outreach worker. I have also worked alongside professionals in education, the NHS and emergency services, supporting children, young people and adults.

Life can bring challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, uncertain or struggling to make sense of things. Counselling can help you explore what's happening in your life, understand your feelings and find a way forward that feels right for you.

I work with adults, children and young people aged 5 and over.

Areas I Can Support You With:

  • Anger and managing difficult emotions

  • Anxiety, stress and feeling overwhelmed

  • Bereavement, grief and loss

  • Bullying, friendship and peer relationship difficulties

  • Confidence and low self-esteem

  • Family changes and relationship difficulties

  • Low mood and emotional wellbeing

  • Neurodiversity and related challenges

  • People-pleasing and setting boundaries

Clinical Supervision

Alongside counselling, I offer clinical supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors, as well as professionals working across education, health, emergency services and other helping professions.

Supervision offers space to reflect on your work, explore challenges, consider the needs of your clients and think about the wider organisational context. It can also help you recognise your strengths, build confidence and develop in your role.
